New to Davison Free Methodist Church or perhaps considering a visit? That's great!
Here are some answers to a few frequently asked questions. If you have questions not listed here, please follow this link and contact us!
When should I arrive?
Our services begin at 9:30 & 11:00 am. We suggest arriving 20-30 minutes early, however it is okay if you are late! We don't mind. Why 20-30 minutes early? This is so you have adequate time to get a flavorful pour over coffee, grab a donut in the Fellowship Hall, find the restrooms, get to know the ministry areas of the Church, and speak to a Hello Team member! They will direct you to where you would like to go, answer any question you have, and do it all with a smile!
What should I wear?
Most people here dress casually. God meets people where they are. As a church, we want to be as Christ-like as possible. In other words, come in a suit-and-tie (you won't be alone), dressed up (others do), or dressed down in jeans. Just come!
Where should I park?
We know parking can be stressful, but we try to make it as easy as possible. Just come in on our Flint St. entrance and help yourself. We also have a carport for drop offs and handicap spaces available near the doors.
Is there a place for everyone in my family at DFMC?
Part of being a church is to understand and minister to families. It is for that reason that we have special places for the youngest child and the oldest grandparent among us. We welcome your family into our family here. Please visit our CIRCLE/GROUPS page to find out more about these ministries and let us know if you have any questions.
What about my kids?
We have a place for kids of all ages. Our well-staffed nursery is available for children from birth to kindergarten during our Sunday morning meeting times. The nursery has a check-in system, a silent paging system for parents, and is a clean, safe, and fun atmosphere for your little ones. During the morning Worship Services, children grades 1st - 6th can attend KIDS CONNECTION! We offer a Welcome Team who would love to help you out when your family arrives.
What do I do when I get there?
Once inside someone from our Welcome Team (just look for anyone wearing an orange 'Hello Team' lanyard!) will greet you with a smile and answer any questions you have. If you have children, they can escort you to the children's or nursery areas. There is also a Welcome Center in the foyer if you would like additional information.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
Only if you want to. We do teach from the Bible, so if you have one, we encourage you to bring it! If you forget it or don't have one, we have Bibles available in our pews and we'd even love for you to take a Bible home with you!
How do we accommodate those with special needs?
We do have wheelchairs and walkers available. Should you or someone you are bringing need a wheelchair or walker, just pull up to our car port entrance and we will bring one to your vehicle. The whole building is wheelchair accessible, and if there is anything else we can do to help, please let us know.
What does a Sunday morning service look like?
Our goal is to glorify God. Each week we feature live dynamic music and life changing Bible teaching. Our 9:30 AM service is a bit quieter and more reflective, the 11:00 AM service is louder and more celebratory! We would love for you to join us during which ever time fits you best!
Are you going to ask for my money?
Money is a sensitive issue, isn't it? Simply put, though, we do not expect our guests to give. We believe in giving as a spiritual opportunity of worship, not as a requirement to belong here.
Is it easy to get 'Connected'?
We try to make it easy. There are welcome cards you can fill out, when you are ready. These cards are in the worship folders you'll receive as you enter the sanctuary or you can connect online here. We want everyone to feel welcomed, and to consider if this might be the place God wants them to worship and serve. You are welcome to get plugged in to one of our ministries as soon as possible. It's a great way to connect with others!
